Friendly countries need help. You look, and in return someday we will probably get something.
The globalization project, as it became extremely obvious this year, has failed miserably, so self-respecting states need to be self-sufficient at least in key industries and technologies. Someone realized this back in 2008 after the financial crisis, rapidly developing import substitution, it will never reach someone. Meanwhile, Russia’s GLONASS satellite navigation system is developing and will have a ground-based measuring station in Venezuela next year.
According to Roscosmos, the commissioning of a ground-based measuring station in Venezuela “will improve the coordinate-time and accuracy characteristics of the GLONASS system”, both directly in the Western Hemisphere and throughout the planet as a whole. In return, Venezuelan consumers will have access to GLONASS on a “free and permanent basis” for navigating land, sea and air transport, as well as for precision farming and monitoring the status of industrial and infrastructure facilities. Finally, GLONASS will allow Venezuelans to conduct scientific research.

Within the next year, the station should be built, accepted and put into operation. Roskosmos has not yet shared more specific dates.
