The announcement of the 13th generation Core mobile processor line is scheduled for early January. In the new chips, Intel will not only increase the maximum number of energy-efficient cores from 8 to 16, but will also raise the clock speeds. In particular, the flagship Core i9-13980HX is credited with a maximum dynamic overclocking rate of 5.6 GHz. This is 600 MHz more than the current Core i9-12950HX.
The Intel Core i9-13980HX has eight high-performance Raptor Cove cores, sixteen energy-efficient Gracemont cores, and 36MB of L3 cache. The desktop Core i9-13900K has the same configuration. The passport level of the Processor Base Power of the novelty should be 55 W, and the Maximum Turbo Power is expected at 157 W. This processor will be used in top gaming laptops and workstations. Preliminary specifications for other 13th generation Core mobile chips can be found in the table.
