NCSOFT has released a new video about the upcoming third-person MMO shooter LLL. In it, the developers answered users’ questions about the game, and also talked about its main features. Here are the main points for you:
The authors are aware that LLL is often compared to The Division, Anthem and other games, pointing out its shortcomings. The team is taking this feedback into account and working with a vengeance to make the project better. LLL belongs to the third person shooter genre, but its unique feature is that it is an open world multiplayer shooter. The developers are trying to actively use the concept of this project to release a truly innovative game. The developers understand why no one has done such projects before, but they believe that they will come up with a unique game that will justify all efforts. At the moment, the player can interact with the world only at certain points. However, in the future it will be possible to freely move around the locations on foot or with the help of vehicles. To create such a world, the team is developing various ways to continuously generate content. NCSOFT is trying its best to create the perfect balance between different elements. The technique allows you to move quickly on land and air, but it has its limitations. The game has special tactical equipment that will help in various situations. For example, in the demo, the characters scan the area, launch single or multi-target missiles, use energy shields in clever ways. The trailer robot is actually a mechanical loader that can be controlled. and tactical equipment. With it, you can try out and use different loader configurations depending on what is happening and the combat situation. Seoul is one of the key locations in LLL. The developers chose this city because it is a unique place where the latest technologies and the traditions of the past meet. To create such a gloomy universe, the environment designers presented two versions of the world: the usual one, before the disaster, and the post-apocalyptic one. They overlay scanned textures onto elements of the environment that players will often see. To recreate the landmarks and skyscrapers on the main streets, the team scanned them all in 3D and integrated them into the game sequentially. The demo showed six different views firearms, including those created in the image of a real SCAR rifle, but in an original futuristic style. The rest also have real prototypes. The artists tried to take into account many small details of the weapon, including the general design, levers, and movements made during firing. The animation for shooting took no less effort to create than the design of the weapon. To make the shooting of weapons look realistic , animators used a motion capture system. One of the animators, who was a top marksman in the military, accurately recreated the movement of the guns and the reaction to being hit by bullets. The team tried to make the movements realistic, but simple enough not to interfere with the rest of the animation. The studio studied many materials to create convincing muzzle effects flames, flying blood, and more. There has also been a lot of discussion about how realistic they are so that too much realism doesn’t obscure what’s happening to the players. We’ve received feedback that on-hit effects need to be improved and are working on this and other elements. create a distributed computing system to speed up the reaction in a multiplayer game, optimize graphics, sound and physics during battles, and also solve a lot of other tasks. Now the team is not thinking about the business model, since the game is at the alpha stage and at the moment for them the gameplay is the most important thing. LLL will be released simultaneously worldwide on PC and consoles in 2024.
