Overwatch 2 returns to be talked about, once again for reasons that have very little to do with its playful merits. According to the testimonies available in online spaces with Reddit, YouTube and the official forums of the game, the progression of the Battle Pass of Season 2 would be much slower than expected.
On the game’s official subreddit, a user accuses Blizzard of “severely and randomly reduced the amount of experience points which are earned at the end of the game without however changing the indicators that are shown after the matches”. In other words, although the expected amount of Experience Points is shown on the screen (in line with what was given during Season 1), the experience bar does not rise in a directly proportional way.
According to the testimony, often and willingly the 20% boost is not even applied guaranteed to Battle Pass holders. Gamepur has done some checks, and has actually noticed that at the end of a game that should have given 1,200 experience points, the idicator only went up by 500 XP. The Reddit post got almost 800 upvotes, since many people have noticed the same inconsistencies, but similar testimonials can also be found on the official Overwatch forum and on YouTube, so the problem appears real.
The community is visibly annoyed and there are many ads accuse Blizzard of having deliberately and artificially slowed down the progression of the Season 2 Battle Pass in response to the move of Ramattra, the new Tank hero, from Tier 55 to the current Tier 45. The Irvine company has not yet commented on the matter, but in our opinion it is possible that it is a bug (it certainly wouldn’t be the first time). We await an official communication.
