In the world of computers, unlike consoles, it is always possible to change various types of components to reach new and high levels of performance over the years. Well… Sort of! In laptops, it has already been possible to change processors, storage, memory, etc… But nowadays, things are not quite like that, especially in recent years, when we see manufacturers increasingly betting on soldered components, to save money , and make machines thinner.
However, in the same way that it is not sustainable to change your cell phone every year, change your laptop, and throw the old one in the trash, it is also not very good for our environment, and consequently, our future.
Therefore, we now have a very interesting proposal, of what a modular laptop is, and therefore durable, and of course, time-proof. Let’s go by parts?
Modular, recyclable, and dynamic laptops. It’s the future!
So, we are talking about Dell’s Project Luna, which basically tries to put in our heads the possibility of assembling a laptop from parts, and over time, changing only what is necessary, in order to be more responsible, aware, friend of the environment.
This is also extremely positive in terms of repairs, because the user can simply change the part with the fault, instead of keeping everything for assistance, or worse than that, buying a completely new machine. This design also allows you to keep the user always on top of the wave, as you can change the screen, the processor, the memory, the storage, the graphics card… Well… Everything!
Also, what do you think about all this? Will it be the future? Is this not the first project designed with modularity in the mobile world? Google already had Project Ara, which was basically a Luna for Android smartphones. Share your opinion with us in the comments box below.
