The reason behind this is because it is felt that TikTok has the influence of communism and stores American personal information. When this law will be passed is still unknown. The law proposed by Senator Marco Rubio expressly bans TikTok and similar social media from ByteDance in the United States. ByteDance itself is the company that created TikTok. According to him, this is necessary to prevent national threats and provide internet surveillance from the influence of the Chinese communist party. Rubio previously claimed that the Chinese Communist party could use TikTok to spread propaganda that fuels domestic strife.
TikTok itself has provided a response regarding its ban in the United States. According to a report from Gamerant, TikTok said that efforts such as enacting prohibition laws would not advance national security. TikTok also categorically denies the allegations made by Senator Rubio.
