A good two weeks after the release of WoW: Dragonflight, the new raid, the Vault of Incarnations, has also opened its doors and countless raiders are pouring in to finish off Terros, Eranog and Raszageth. If you consider that the last “new” raid was almost ten months ago, it is hardly surprising that the enthusiasm for the new raid was great and the motivation of many players was high.
And so, in the first few days, many thousands of players visited the new raid and killed at least some of the eight new bosses. It would actually be a little early for a DpS check. However, we still take a look at the first logs in the new raid. Because there are a few differences to previous raids.
Since Mythic became available right on day one, there probably won’t be a big balancing patch between Heroic and Mythic. Second, this is the first raid to be played with the new talent trees and without Borrowed Power. Of course, it is particularly interesting to see how the classes perform in the ranking.
WoW: DpS in the vault of incarnations – initial position
To really find out what the classes and playstyles are currently capable of, we’re going to focus on the top 5 percent of all normal logs for each class. This is how we make sure the numbers aren’t skewed by weaker players or erroneous logs (where the player was dead on the ground about half the time). Since these numbers were usually achieved with very good equipment, the pure values are hardly meaningful for us normal players.
That being said, many high quality logs are only achieved through the concentrated use of support spells on individual players. So if you can’t reach the numbers given, you don’t need to worry. However, the values are quite useful for the relationship between the classes.

WoW Dragonflight: Race to World First – Read the latest news here!
WoW: Dragonflight: DpS in the Vault of Incarnations: Eranog Source: buffed / warcraftlogs Eranog is a typical entry-level boss with few mechanics that even absolute WoW newcomers quickly understood. The DpS requirements are not particularly high either. Only the damage on one of the adds from the chain has to be correct so that you can escape before you die. Since there are also a few adds, you’re best off with a mix of single target damage and area burst – with the former being far more important.
Apparently, marksmanship hunters are doing pretty well after the buff. They bang on the boss and the adds properly. Arcane mages line up directly behind. By the way, you should get used to this sight. It seems the Arcane Mages are outdoing their Fire and Frost counterparts this time. The difference between the top spots and the bottom spots is relatively large. That was to be expected with the first tier of the expansion. – Raid Guide to Eranog.
WoW: Dragonflight: DpS in the vault of incarnations: Terros Source: buffed / warcraftlogs Terros is one of the few bosses where you really only have to deal with one opponent from start to finish. In addition, you don’t have to move very much here either – perfect for calling up the theoretical maximum of a game. In theory, the balancing should be pretty good here. But you can see for yourself: Good is something else. The midfield is actually okay so far, considering the mammoth task of balancing the new talent trees. But the fact that the villain is in 1st to 3rd place with all three ways of playing is actually only known from the sorcerer. The back field, on the other hand, is too far behind and urgently needs a buff. – Raid Guide to Terros.
WoW: DpS at the primalist council
WoW: Dragonflight: DpS in the vault of the incarnations: Primalistenrat Source: buffed / warcraftlogs At the Primalistenrat you fight against four bosses, who are mostly cuddled in one place. Perfect for throwing area damage around. Traditionally, the balancing of such bosses is rather bad and the old acquaintances are at the top. The Owl can follow this trend, but with the Marksmanship Hunter it’s a class at the top that wasn’t really known for high splash damage. However, thanks to the new talent tree and some heavy synergies, Marksman now becomes the ultimate multi-target machine. Mages are almost forced to go arcane here if they want to keep up at all. – Primalist Council Raid Guide.
WoW: DpS at Sennarth, the cold breath
WoW: Dragonflight: DpS in the vault of incarnations: Sennarth Source: buffed / warcraftlogs The spider became the hate boss for many players after just a few days. Our heroes are constantly on the move, slithering around and constantly in danger of being pulled down. In between, damage to the boss and the many small spiders – and the fight is over. Of course, the many movements make it difficult for the magic classes in particular. Accordingly, the upper part of the ranking is dominated by the melee fighters. Only the arcane magician with his new way of playing and of course the very strong marksmanship hunter can keep up here. Warlocks, on the other hand, find themselves in the lower ranks with all three specs. A hard case for the class, which has always been at the top with at least one way of playing for what feels like an eternity. – Raid Guide to Sennarth, the Cold Breath.
WoW: DpS at Dathea, the Ascended
WoW: Dragonflight: DpS in the Vault of Incarnations: Dathea Source: buffed / warcraftlogs Although Dathea has some add-ons, in normal mode you usually only fight the boss or one add-on at a time. Depending on the tactic, it doesn’t take much movement in the fight, which benefits some classes. The absolute kings of damage here are arcane mages and backstab rogues. They do significantly more damage than any other play style. “More” would be okay, after all someone has to be at the top. But the distance is clearly too big. Behind it, the gradations look much better and in the broad midfield one can certainly speak of good balancing. – Raid Guide to Dathea, the Ascended.
WoW: DpS bei Kurog Grimmtotem
WoW: Dragonflight: DpS in the vault of the incarnations: Kurog Grimtotem Source: buffed / warcraftlogs The fight against the master of the totems can be played in many different ways. Of course, this also has an impact on the DpS, because different amounts of movement are required and different amounts of adds appear. Therefore, this ranking is of course not very meaningful. The picture is similar to that of other bosses. Villains can choose their spec and play with everyone at the top. Excitingly, the amp shaman pushes himself way up. With the fire magician and the affliction witcher, there are two types of play at the bottom that are actually used to life at the top. – Raid Guide to Kurog Grimtotem.
WoW: DpS at Brood Keeper Diurna
WoW: Dragonflight: DpS in the vault of the incarnations: Brood Keeper Diurna Source: buffed / warcraftlogs A large room and you constantly have to run from one side to the other. In between hitting the boss, beating up adds and breaking eggs. The fight against Diurna sounds confusing and will probably not be voted fight of the year. In terms of play, however, it is quite demanding and the many movements and the burst area damage put a new class at the top of the DpS ranking: the Windwalker Monk. Only behind come the three villains and the marksmanship hunter. Mages bring up the double tail, just behind Affliction Warlocks. – Brood Warden Diurna raid guides.
WoW: DpS at Raszageth, the storm keeper
WoW: Dragonflight: DpS in the vault of incarnations: Raszageth Source: buffed / warcraftlogs Different platforms, intermediate phases, adds, lots of movement, high level of difficulty – Raszageth has everything that makes a real final boss. Therefore, the amount of kills is still manageable and the rankings are less meaningful than with other bosses. But that doesn’t change the fact that the three villains are again in the first three places. Only the amplifiers can keep up here. All other classes and specs have a clear gap. Incidentally, with the exception of the shadow priest, all classes that only have one DpS spec are in the upper half of the ranking (paladin, monk, caller, demon hunter). That was also rare in the past
