Records are updated twice a week.
Since it is possible to say goodbye to gas supplies to Europe in the foreseeable future due to several reasons at once, including the impossibility of carrying out diplomacy with European leaders on equal terms, as well as the physical destruction of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines as a result of what everyone knows about, but what they are afraid to admit even to themselves, supplies are redirected to Asia, and specifically to China. The economy of the Celestial Empire is able to digest almost any amount of energy resources poured into it, so a change in the direction of supplies looks like a logical step. And so, today, Gazprom once again announced the update of the record for gas supplies via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline.
Over the weekend, according to the press service of Gazprom, the excess of the daily gas supplies to China stipulated by the agreement through the Power of Siberia gas pipeline amounted to 16.6%. The previous record – 16.5% – was set on December 14, and on December 10 the record was 16.4%. Apparently, “Gazprom” decided to call records each excess of deliveries by one tenth of a percent. Which, of course, looks more comical than anything else.

Today, the Power of Siberia operates at slightly more than half its capacity: next year, gas supplies to China through this gas pipeline should amount to 22 billion cubic meters. Power of Siberia will reach its design capacity of 38 billion cubic meters of gas only in five years. It is also important to remember that only 1/7 of the volume of gas that was previously supplied to Europe is supplied through the Power of Siberia.
