We all want to leave our computer at 100%. After all, the more we can optimize the Windows 11 PC, the better things will work. It is true that during the year we do not have much time for this. However, we can take advantage of the beginning of the holidays to get rid of the junk and let our computer work in the best possible way. This is important because in addition to getting rid of junk, we will gain more speed in applications and also in games. So we’re going to explain how to optimize your Windows 11 PC to the fullest.
Windows 11: How to optimize your PC to the fullest
The first thing we have to do before starting the cleaning is to check that we have all the components of our computer properly updated. At this point I’m talking about the operating system but also about many other things like the drivers for the different devices that we have on the PC. Note that if we use Windows Update to carry out updates, we must not install drivers that are available through this method. The goal is that we always update from the manufacturer’s website.
First let’s check if we have Windows updates to do.
At that point we just have to open the Start menu and start typing Windows Update. On the left side, the Check for Updates option will appear. On the right side, just click on Open.
Now if we have any indication of an available update we have to click Download and Install.
At that time the update will be downloaded and installed. This is always the first step we have to take.
In addition to these mandatory updates, we also have other optional ones. In some cases it’s worth doing. Especially if we are having several bugs with our computer. However, in most cases we can leave them alone. Also because they will arrive later on our PC in the tuesday patch of the following month.
After updates complete through Windows Update it is a good idea to try to update some system drivers.
As I mentioned this must be done through the manufacturer’s website.
If you have an AMD graphics card, you can come here. If, on the other hand, you have one from Nvidia, you can follow this link.
Needless to say, this should be done for other components we have on the system.
However now we have to give our PC a clean.
For this purpose we go to the Start menu. Then we start typing Delete and we have to click on Delete temporary files.
In the window that appears we have a summary of everything that can be eliminated and also what we have installed on our computer.
In this window, click on Cleaning Recommendations.
There we will find apps that we don’t use but also other things that can be cleaned.
Click on Temporary files and if everything is fine with the operating system, you can delete files from previous installations. However, you can also delete transfers.
Then just click on Clean.
Check applications that run at startup
Many apps are configured to launch when you turn on your PC. The problem is that many of them can slow down your PC. So it’s always a good idea to check that there’s nothing that could be compromising the speed.
Finding out is simple. First, use the Ctrl+Shift+Esc key combination.
At that point, Task Manager will open. Then go to the Startup tab. There you will see a series of applications.
If you see that there is an app that you don’t need when you check that tab, you can easily disable it. Just click on the app and then press disable. In my case, for example, and since I don’t need them all the time, I disabled Spotify, Cortana and Skype.
In the meantime the starter impact column appeared to me without measurement everywhere. However, if medium or something higher appeared, that would be what we should deactivate.
Disable unnecessary background apps
First, start by accessing the settings. For this purpose, just click on the Windows 11 search and type Settings. Then on the right click on Open.
Then click on apps on the left side. Then, in the window on the right, choose Apps & Features.
Meanwhile, you will see a large list of apps appear. Then click on the three dots in front of the application where you want to move and then click on Advanced Options.
Agora procure a entrada Background apps permissions.
There you have three options. Choose Always, Power optimized which is the default option or Never. Needless to say, if you want to stop this app from running in the background, you should choose Never. If for some reason you want it to be running all the time (not recommended) choose Always.
However, when the process is finished, just close the settings.
