Head of Global Branch Amazon Studios Vernon Sanders stated that the series God of War will be faithful to the original game source.
According to Sanders, Amazon has a history of successfully adapting franchises like “Boys” and “Invulnerable” – with them the company copes “incredibly well.” As for God of War, it attracted Prime Studios primarily for its emotional component. It is a story “of fathers, sons and families, told against the backdrop of a gigantic epic landscape.”
Sanders believes that the work done by the creators of the series remains not only true to the source material, but also is attractive in itself. Those who have never played the game will be able to fall in love with the show and feel invited into the story.
The Amazon God of War series does not yet have details on the plot, cast, start date of filming, or a tentative release window. It is known that the showrunner of the project is Rafe Judkins, known by “Wheel of Time” and doing the script Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostbywho wrote the first “Iron Man” and “Child of Man”.
Among the executive producers are the game director God of War 2018 of the year Corey Barlog and Yumi Yan from Sony Santa Monica Studios.
