A few days ago, a TV series based on the successful “God of War” from 2018 was announced. According to official information, the TV series will remain true to the video game template while making sure that newcomers can also follow the story.
After rumors of this kind persisted in the past few weeks, the TV series for the soft reboot of “God of War” from 2018 was officially announced a few days ago.
Said TV series will result from a collaboration between Amazon, Sony Pictures and PlayStation Studios. Unfortunately, not too many details have been mentioned so far. Instead, all we really know is that Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby will be writing the scripts. Unsurprisingly, it is also clear that the stories or fates of Kratos and Atreus will take center stage.
In an interview with Collider, Amazon Studios Head of Television Vernon Sanders detailed plans for the God of War TV series. According to Collider, on the one hand it will be about staying true to the video game template. At the same time, however, people who have never played the soft reboot should also be addressed.

“The focus is this story of fathers, sons and families set against this gigantic epic landscape. What Rafe Judkins (showrunner) and Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (writers) have come up with for the first season and for the series I think will be both incredibly faithful to the source material and compelling in its own right. If you’ve never played the game, you’ll fall in love with the show and feel very welcome. So we expect it to be really huge.”
It is still unclear when the first season of the TV series “God of War” can be expected to be broadcast on Prime Video. As acknowledged in the official announcement, the project is still in the early stages of production. Therefore, details about the actors or actresses who will breathe life into the various characters are still a long time coming.
