“Come on, wake up! Get up, Tak,” the bulbous-nosed medicine man yells into your sleepy face. The rough stimulant cure has good reasons: Once again the unscrupulous priest Tlaloc has dark plans. With the ‘Rod of Dreams’ he wants to seize power over the Pupununu people. “Nothing there,” thinks the cunning Tak and sets out in search of the magical artefact.
Initially only equipped with a measly wooden club, from now on you trudge through wildly sprawling jungle landscapes and bludgeon the nasty ‘Hölzli’ gang full of piggybacks. These henchmen of the evil shaman usually come in small groups and are characterized by confused battle babble and hectic hara-kiri attacks. If the gang isn’t around, Tak masters jump passages typical of the genre, undertakes a breakneck river trip or cleans a psychedelic dream world of nasty Alb creatures.
For additional variety, the developers spice up the Jump’n’Run mush with a number of animal puzzles. For example, freshly perfumed with eau de skunk, lures the fluffy bear out of his cave to the nearest beehive. If the voracious fur carrier settles down to feast, you use his stomach as a trampoline. Or get your village shaman, shrunken to the size of a flea, out of the leather apron pocket and smack him on the back of the next squirrel. In shock, it bites through a liana and you master the next abyss with ease. If you also diligently collect colorful power beads, numerous multiplayer modes will be unlocked: among other things, liana climbing, sandboarding and feather hunting invite you.
