News game The Witcher 3 Next Gen PC: CD Projekt finally reacts!

Last week, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt entered the next generation with a next-gen update. An arrival that did not go unnoticed, especially on PC, where many bugs were also in the game. Fortunately, CD Projekt was on the spot and has just deployed a first patch for the PC version.
Between success and disappointment
Reputed to be one of the best open-world games of its generation, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt more than deserved its place in the next generation. Since last week, December 14 to be precise, next-gen update revives Santa Monica title on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC and even propels him to the second step of the Metacritic site podium; stealing the show from God of War: Ragnarök to titillate Elden Ring at the top of the rankings with a score of 96/100.
With such a score, fans therefore seem to be delighted to (re) dive into the adventures of the famous witcher and there is something for it… Embarking on ray-tracing, a 4K resolution or even a frame rate of 60 FPS, the rendering of the game has never been so beautiful, but that was without counting on many problems that came to spoil the experience of players on PC. Graphical bugs, untimely crashes, drops in FPS… Clearly, the discontent was starting to rise on the side of the players, forcing the CD Projekt development teams to take these initial feedback into account.
CD Projekt to the rescue
This is why the Polish studio announced via the game’s official Twitter account that a patch has just been deployed on PC.
We’ve just released a hotfix for The Witcher 3 on PC, which should improve the overall stability and performance, and fix GOG & Steam overlays. The game version won’t change.

We’ve just released a hotfix for The Witcher 3 on PC, which should improve general stability and performance, and fix GOG and Steam overlays. The version of the game will not change. Our teams are working to further improve the experience on all platforms.
Without changing the version of the game, this update is mainly intended to “improve the general stability and performance” of this next gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Technically speaking, it should therefore solve the problems encountered by PC gamers. Nearly 3 GB on Steam and 1.9 GB on GOG so that everything is just a bad memory.
Finally, CD Projekt also takes advantage of this publication on the web to specify that the developers do not forget the other platforms, however, by promising to work on future improvements as well.
As a reminder, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and on PC but also on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S thanks to its next gen update.
