The mode Forge made its debut on Halo Infinite last November, allowing many fans to give life to their own game maps by also introducing customized assets within them.
The great freedom of creation left to users is the key to the success of the Forge, although there are still some restrictions to take into consideration and “excesses” to avoid: if you go beyond the permitted limits, you risk being banned from 343 Industries thus preventing access to the appreciated editor (which we remember to be always online).
This is what happened to a Halo Infinite player, Loaf Lordwhich was banned for including assets featuring them in its map marijuana plantsthus violating the standards of the Community Xbox (in particular Microsoft asks to “comply with local laws by blocking content or attitudes that promote illegal activities”) and having their creation removed by the developers. This therefore led to a three-month ban for Loaf Lord, who still got in touch with the developers via Twitter to request the removal of the suspension in exchange for removing any type of illegal content.
However, the story spread among the Halo Infinite community, causing discussions about the ways in which the ban took place: in fact, it seems that Loaf Lord was immediately suspended without any kind of notice by Microsoft or 343 Industries, with some users calling the measure taken “too harsh”. He intervened on the matter Michael Schorrlead designer of the Forge mode of Halo Infinite, asking the community to remember that “Halo Infinite is available in many countries where marijuana is illegal”.
Controversial events aside, in recent days 343 Industries has revealed the statistics of the first year of Halo Infinite, also citing the challenges and opportunities faced in recent months. Finally, let us recall what are the novelties of the Halo Infinite December Update, which among the various additions also brought the Custom Game Browser.
