Many users, watching the second Gameplay Showcase in 4K of Hogwarts Legacy, have raised doubts about the difficulty of the fights, considering them too simple. The question, which has been held up on the net for several days, reached the ears of the Avalanche boys, whose response was not long in coming.
Representing the developers, Community Manager Chandler Wood (also known as FinchStrife) took to Reddit to clarify that during the showcase recording the level of the fights has been set to “Normal”, so what has been shown is not representative of the maximum that Hogwarts Legacy is able to offer in terms of challenge. The Community Manager pointed out that the controller was entrusted to a professional person who “has been playing Hogwarts Legacy essentially every day for a long time”, therefore already accustomed to the gameplay and aware of the best tactics to use in battle. “Believe me, it makes it look simple,” he said.
Wood also took the opportunity to offer a series of additional information on the combat system. We thus learned that the Unforgivable Curses are equipped with a series of intrinsic “crowd control” mechanics, that is, useful for managing groups of enemies. Open Kedavrafor example, causes the “Fear” status, causing enemies to flee; Crusades stuns opponents making them unable to battle, while Empire causes enemies to switch sides and fight alongside the protagonist. Since all three were used in the showcase, in some cases together with Arresto Momentum, Artificial Intelligence has given the impression of being less efficient than it actually is. The “fault”, according to the Community Manager, would be of the one who played, too good at managing fights.
During the campaign the Unforgivable Curses will be completely optional and, above all, they will not be available from the start. Their finding will take place over time and the level of mastery will be acquired during the progression, therefore Blum asks players not to worry about the level of difficulty.
We take the opportunity to remind you that Hogwarts Legacy has entered the Gold phase and that its launch remains fixed at February 10, 2023 su PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC e Nintendo Switch.
