Lenovo has announced that next spring it will launch updated models of ThinkPad X1 series laptops – X1 Carbon G11, X1 Nano G3 and X1 Yoga G8 – based on the latest 13th generation Intel Core processors. All new items will meet the standards of the Intel Evo platform. The manufacturer plans to start deliveries of the updated models in April.

The updated ThinkPad X1 Carbon will offer up to 64GB of LPDDR5 RAM and PCIe 4.0 SSDs up to 2TB. The laptop will receive a 14-inch display with support for resolutions up to 2880 × 1800 pixels and DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification. The appearance of the updated ThinkPad X1 Carbon will remain the same as last year’s model. The dimensions of the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon will be 315.6 × 222.5 × 15.36 mm.

The updated X1 Yoga model will receive the same set of RAM and storage as the X1 Carbon model, however, this laptop will be able to offer a 14-inch OLED screen with support for a resolution of 3840 × 2400 pixels.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga G8
The more compact and lighter ThinkPad X1 Nano in the updated configuration will receive up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 2 TB SSD. This new product will be equipped with a 13-inch display with support for resolutions up to 2160 × 1350 pixels. The weight of the updated model will be 970 grams.

All three Lenovo laptops will receive the same set of external connectors. The novelties will offer two Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB Type-C), a pair of USB 3.2 Type-A, one HDMI 2.0b and one combined 3.5 mm audio jack. In addition, the laptops will be equipped with webcam shutters, offer support for user motion tracking, fingerprint scanners and Dolby Atmos-enabled sound systems.
The 2023 ThinkPad X1 Carbon, ThinkPad X1 Nano, and ThinkPad X1 Yoga laptops will feature recycled materials compared to previous models. The X1 Carbon and X1 Nano models will feature wrist pads and a rear roof. Whether recycled materials will be used in the case of the X1 Yoga model, the manufacturer did not specify. However, Lenovo noted that the laptop’s packaging will be made from bamboo fibers and sugar cane.
The updated X1 Carbon will start at $1,729. The updated X1 Nano will start at $1,649 and the X1 Yoga will start at $1,859. Lenovo calls these prices preliminary. Closer to the release of new products, they may change.
