In a message to the community, Sega and the responsible developers from Sonic Team pointed out that a small free DLC for “Sonic Frontiers” is now available on all platforms.
With this, a little festive mood is created in the world of the open-world platformer, since the said DLC brings a Christmas outfit for Sonic. A free extra that was announced at the end of November and with which the developers would also like to thank the players for their support. As recently announced, “Sonic Frontiers” celebrated a successful launch.
According to Sega, more than 2.5 million copies were sold in the first few weeks after release.
This content is planned for 2023
As Sega confirmed a few days ago, the developers at Sonic Team are already working on various additional content that will support “Sonic Frontiers” next year. The bottom line is that three download packages are planned, which will be made available to owners of the game at no additional cost. According to Sega, in the first download package we can look forward to a juke box mode, the photo mode that was unfortunately missing at launch and new challenge modes.
The second DLC includes exclusive open zone challenges, a new Koko and other unspecified content, while the third and final download pack consists of additional further story content and new playable characters. According to Sega, more specific details about the DLCs and the content offered will follow in due course.
