Journalists from Digital Foundry published a test of the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 on Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 a few days ago. Today they released a new test in which they analyzed the work of the updated version of the RPG from CD Projekt RED on Xbox Series S. Key points from the analysis Digital Foundry:
On Xbox Series S, the game works in 2 modes. In quality mode 1440p at 30 FPS, in performance mode 1080p at 60 FPS. There is no ray tracing in any mode. In quality mode, the game consistently keeps the declared 30 FPS. In performance mode, there are frame rate drops, especially serious in Novigrad – up to 40 FPS. In battles, FPS drops to 50-55 FPS, but not always. In both modes, the resolution is dynamic, but it rarely drops below the target values. There are problems with input lag in the quality mode (experts identified the same problem in the previous test on the Playstation 5) , which is why Digital Foundry does not recommend this mode. In performance mode, the game does not graphically differ much from quality mode. The main difference is the draw distance.
