A Google touches, in one way or another, in the most varied meanders of our lives. Whether with your Android smartphones, with your search engine that grants us access to information on a daily basis, without forgetting other IoT devices and gadgets for the home.
Now, thanks to a high-profile leak, we get to know what could be the schedule of the North American giant until 2025.
It is, in fact, two years of launches of smartphones and other products whose references now reach the Internet, even though their authenticity cannot be verified.

More specifically, the information leak was advanced exclusively by the publication AndroidAuthority according to information provided exclusively to this entity by an unidentified leaker.
The focus, it seems, will fall on the company’s mobile phones, the Google Pixel, also known as Android ambassadors.
In advance, no, there are no direct references to the availability of this family of mobile phones in Portugal. We do have information about the brand’s launches in 2023, with major changes compared to what was previously practiced by the company.
The trend, incidentally, will remain in effect until 2025, based on the information now released.
2023 will bring subtle changes to Google Pixel smartphones
According to the aforementioned source, we will have at least two new Gogle phones, the “lynx” and “felix”. Both devices should be presented approximately at the time of Google I/O 2023, therefore between May and April of next year.
Apparently, the “lynx” will be the phone Pixel 7a🇧🇷 On the other hand, the “felix” model is considered to be the Pixel Fold, the company’s first foldable smartphone, already mentioned in several leaks. By the way, see the image and video above.
Personally, I believe that the Fold will finally be unveiled in 2023. The technology and the foldable form factor have been improving from year to year, being mature enough that a foldable Pixel will also see the light of day.
2023 will be marked by the launch of the foldable Google Pixel Fold
Although attention will probably be focused on the company’s first foldable, Google is also expected to put a new affordable phone on the market. By the way, the source points to the Google Pixel 7a as a certainty for 2023.
This will be the successor to the current Pixel 6a and will bring several improvements such as the screen with a high refresh rate at 90 Hz, keeping the price below 500 dollars, or 500 euros. Unfortunately, we don’t know if they will officially arrive in Portugal.

Screen OLED de 6,1” Full-HD+

Storage: 128 GB
Release: May 2022
Later, after Samsung introduced the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip, Google will prepare a new round of high-end mobile phones in the form of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Phones codenamed “shiba” and “husky” will have a similar design to the current Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
In short, the 2023 releases will be very similar to those practiced this year by the research giant. Here I believe that the improvements are mainly technical, with reinforced “specs” and a maintenance of the general design of the product.
Google may adopt a biennial calendar for the Pixel A
Everything will depend on the commercial success of the Google Pixel 7a. That is, if the phones are well received in the market, the manufacturer will maintain the annual launch of this family of more affordable phones. Otherwise, the Pixel A product range will have a bi-annual launch window.
We therefore have the launch of a very important Pixel 7a, not only for the product itself, but also for the entire range of affordable phones from the brand.
Finally, when a Pixel 8a hits the market, between 2024 and 2025, its price should rise slightly, now marking 550 euros, or even 499 euros if the manufacturer really wants to keep the product competitive. For now, this is the biggest uncertainty.
Pixel 9 range will mark the 2024 and 2025 launches
Arriving in autumn 2024, these mobile phones will be the company’s top of the range during the remainder of that year and most of the following year, 2025. However, it will be in autumn 2024 that, for the first time, this range of mobile phones will be able to count on three devices to be unveiled.
This is the conviction of the aforementioned source, mentioning that the Pixel 9 will maintain the general format of the Pixel 8, but should be slightly smaller than the Pixel 7. At the moment, these phones are codenamed “Komodo”, with a 6 .7 inches.
We will also have a Pro model, with the code name “Kaiman”, which should have superior specifications, especially in the camera. In both cases, however, the phones must be more compact than the products arriving in 2023.
Finally, the company can still launch a third model, compact and powerful. In other words, a compact Pro model, something we haven’t found in the mobile device market since Apple revamped its iPhone mini.
Google Pixel Flip could arrive in 2025
The shell-shaped folding smartphone could officially arrive in 2025 according to the same information. By then, we’ll have at least one generation of its book-format foldable, the Fold.
However, the American company will have two strategies here, two rumors for its foldables depending on the success or failure of its rivals. Finally, the fate of the Pixel Fold by 2025 will directly depend on the success of the 1st phone with this format to arrive in 2023.
Plausible information in view of market trends
Although none of this has been confirmed, it is certain that each and every manufacturer is paying more and more attention to the folding format. As such, it is only to be expected that Google will also seriously look into this format.
In addition, the other releases make perfect sense. New generations of its Android smartphones focusing on photography, build quality, design and pure Android experience coming to market annually until 2025.
We are, for now, quite curious to see everything that the research giant has planned for 2023.
