Soyuzmultfilm returns to reboots of classic cartoons

Studio “Soyuzmultfilm” again returns to restarts of classic Soviet cartoons like “Cheburashki” and Prostokvashino.It was assumed that new versions “Well, wait!” and “Deep” will be the last projects of this kind, and the studio itself will develop its own franchises. But it wasn’t there. According to the chairman of the board of directors Yuliana Slashcheva, the current year has changed the attitude of Soyuzmultfilm to these ideas – at the level of the state and the audience there is a “huge need” for familiar characters. In addition, the “golden collection” brings half of the studio’s income. Now the authors are working on a pilot release of the series about Cheburashka, which is created using 3D. The success of the project is also tied to the performance of a feature film about the hero, whose premiere is scheduled for January 1, 2023. A full-length cartoon about Prostokvashino is also in development, and the studio plans 19 animated series and 4 full-length projects in total. Now Soyuzmultfilm is looking for a partner to help develop their ideas with investments.
