Sony recently opened official pages are PlayStation Store for some new games with no release date yet, like Stellar Blade e Rise of the Roninin addition to the one we had seen for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and all of these are taken as clues to a possible State of Play o PlayStation Showcase by fans and alleged insiders.
To tell the truth, this is by no means guaranteed and the link is somewhat forced, although obviously the opening of an official page on the PlayStation Store indicates, at the very least, that the release of a game is scheduled for the near future. With regard to Stellar Blade, in particular, the arrival of the official page could actually suggest the release of new information, but for other cases the question seems rather difficile: Rise of the Ronin, in particular, still seems to require a lot of work from Team Ninja and it is unlikely that the presence of the official page is a prelude to the next release of the game.
It makes more sense to think that Sony is reviewing the organization of the PlayStation Store, inserting the pages relating to games even well in advance of the actual releases. Not for nothing, both games in question have no release date and are part of the category “announced”in order to already activate the space on the store pending any developments.
The same could be the case with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 page, which had already raised high hopes for a dedicated upcoming State of Play. On this front, to tell the truth, even the various teasers published by Insomniac could actually indicate a possible arrival of news in this regard, so it is impossible to exclude this possibility.
In any case it is difficult, at this point, to link the appearance of official pages on the PlayStation Store to the arrival of release dates or new high-profile communications, however we cannot exclude the possibility that Sony has some presentation event planned for the beginning of 2023, given the long pause taken so far in this area.
