Google Maps is a very complete application and helps to ensure that we get anywhere safely. However, things are complicated for one of the most famous apps in the world. By making the road more predictable, Google Maps helps drivers know what’s going on, giving them enough time to act accordingly. But, on the other hand, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Google Maps solves this problem well. In fact, Google Maps redirection system is working terribly and this has attracted a new wave of criticism. In fact, this situation is leading users to abandon Google Maps in revolt.
Users are leaving Google Maps in revolt!
As if this were not enough, users are rating the application with just one star. This is a maximum of five. So the overall Google Maps rating dropped to 4.1 points. This is despite being the number one navigation app in the world.
But what is the reason for so many problems anyway?
Most people complain that Google Maps silently and automatically finds a new route and activates it during navigation without even asking for permission. Others claim that occasionally the new route changes the destination to a random location, obviously sending them somewhere else entirely.
Needless to say, it’s easy to see why this is such a big deal. If users don’t look at the screen when the redirection occurs, they will end up going to a different destination as Google Maps doesn’t seem to provide any confirmation about the change.
Others believe that the re-routing system makes no sense, simply because it sends people to alternative roads to eventually save just a few seconds.
It does not matter whether these claims are well founded or not. The truth is that Google Maps seems to be pushing more and more users to other apps. Logically, the great alternative is Waze.
