Google Calendar: Events are randomly generated from emails
The Google Calendar mobile app seems to create non-existent all-day events quite randomly on its own. These events appear to be based on the content of users’ Gmail messages. The website 9to5Google reported this problem for the first time. It was found that the app stores various types of emails, such as delivery notifications, purchase receipts and newsletters, as all-day calendar events. There isn’t a clear pattern, but emails that mention specific dates seem to trigger this error. Newsletters should also be able to trigger these random events.
