The Enhanced Autopilot driving automation feature set sits between the baseline Autopilot and the more expensive FSD in Tesla’s EV capability hierarchy, and has remained a bit under the radar so far, with FSD typically included in the beta testing program. Judging by the statements of the brand’s electric vehicle owners in Australia, the company decided to open access to Enhanced Autopilot options for 30 days without charging a fee for their activation.

Otherwise, as Electrek explains, car owners would have to pay $6,000 to activate these features, although they retained access to them on an indefinite basis. The list of functions available for the “30-day test” includes the following:
automatic rebuilding on the highway when the driver turns on the direction indicator; automatic navigation along a given route (no automatic stop at intersections and traffic lights – the latter is available only to FSD users); one-touch automatic parking perpendicular or parallel to the roadway; automatic exit of the car without a driver in the cabin from narrow parking spaces and driving in the opposite direction, while the control is carried out using a smartphone; Smart Summon is an independent exit of the car to the driver, who is at a distance from the parking space, but within line of sight and off public roads.
In general, if this promotion applies to all regions of the official presence of Tesla products, then this will be a great gift for car owners. At the very least, if there is a $199 per month subscription option for those wanting to try out the more advanced FSD before shelling out $15,000 for permanent use, there were no such offers for those wanting to try out the Enhanced Autopilot. Only one specific nuance should be taken into account – in October, Tesla began to supply cars without ultrasonic sensors, and they do not yet have the functions of auto parking and calling an empty electric car to the driver. In the future, Tesla will train them to navigate obstacles using cameras, but for now, the full set of Enhanced Autopilot features is only available to owners of cars with ultrasonic sensors.
