Android Authority has revealed Google’s plans for the Pixel phone lineup for 2023-2025. However, even if anonymous sources of the publication are 100% right, of course, the company’s plans may change. With all that said, some early predictions are coming true in this timeline, such as plans for a $1,799 foldable smartphone.
Google Pixel series in 2023
Next year, the Pixel lineup expects minor changes. In April/May, two phones will be unveiled during Google I/O codenamed lynx (referring to Pixel 7a) and felix (Pixel Fold). The Pixel 7a will remain priced at $449 in the US. Previous leaks have indicated that the series will get wireless charging and a 90Hz screen refresh rate, but Android Authority sources have not confirmed this information.
The main novelty of Google in 2023 will be first foldable Pixel for $1799making it a competitor for Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series.
Later in 2023, Google will launch two new phones in its core series: Pixel 8 и Pixel 8 Pro. The notable change will be the smaller size of the Pixel 8, however, the Pixel 8 Pro will get the same display and overall dimensions as the Pixel 7 Pro.

Google Pixel series in 2024
According to sources, Google may drop annual releases of A-series phones and release them every 2 years. Thus, the series will be compared with Apple’s iPhone SE.
If Pixel 8a will be released, its price will increase to $499. However, the fate of this phone depends entirely on the performance of the Pixel 7a in the market.
Fall 2024 Google will release the Pixel 9 series, for the first time including three devices. The first will be the vanilla Google Pixel 9, which will likely be the same size and overall format as the Pixel 8. The upcoming Pixel 9 Pro will have a 6.7-inch screen. However, a more compact professional model with a 6.3-inch screen may also appear.
Sources say Google wants to emulate Apple’s successful size strategy, which means it needs a pro-grade phone that’s not as big as the Pixel 7 Pro. The Pixel 9 will be similar to the iPhone 14, while the 6.3-inch pro model will be similar to the iPhone 14 Pro.
All three phones must be submitted to Tensor G4which appears in the report under the code name “redondo”.
Google Pixel series in 2025
Through 2025, Google is considering multiple options for its Pixel roadmap, which will be heavily influenced by the success or failure of its plans for 2023 and 2024.
First, Google is toying with the idea of making a foldable phone to compete with the Galaxy Z Flip series. If the company follows this path, then the launch of the main Pixel series in the fall of 2025 will include folding “clamshell”, the basic flagship Pixel 10 with two Pro-iterations – smaller and larger.
