The editors of the well-known Digital Foundry channel, dedicated to technology and analysis of graphics in games, summed up the year by identifying the games with the best graphics. The top three were Horizon: Forbidden West, The Callisto Protocol and Portal RTX.
The game Horizon: Forbidden West has become the main exclusive of the Sony PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. The level of visual performance and elaboration of the world here is really great. The developers squeezed all the juice out of the available architecture. Horror The Callisto Protocol also pleased with technological graphics, on PC the game demonstrates excellent work with shadows and better reflections thanks to tracing. Portal RTX has become a major technology exclusive to the PC platform, demonstrating the ability to modernize older games with new tracing technologies. Portal RTX was built using the Nvidia RTX Remix toolkit, which is planned to be made available to the public in the future.
Also, the Digital Foundry editors noted the graphics in Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Need for Speed Unbound, updated Fortnite on the Unreal Engine 5.1 engine, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Warhammer 40000: Darktide, The Last of Us: Remastered and Gran Turismo 7.
