The NBU, together with the systemically important banks of Ukraine, have developed a solution that will allow the banking system to operate stably and continuously even with the continuation of terrorist attacks by Russian invaders on the energy infrastructure and a possible blackout.
It is noted that at the initiative of the NBU, all systemically important banks have united to create the POWER BANKING banking network. This is a common network of bank branches throughout Ukraine that will work and provide banking services to customers even in a critical situation during a blackout. All branches of the POWER BANKING network are equipped with alternative energy sources and backup communication channels. They also have enhanced cash collection and additional staff.
Currently, the POWER BANKING network unites all 14 systemically important banks. Their branches became the backbone of the network. Other participants of the banking market are also actively involved in the network. Now more than 1,000 bank branches in all regions of the country are additionally equipped to work during the blackout (about 80% of them are branches of systemically important banks). It will be possible to recognize the branch of the general banking network by the special marking “POWER BANKING” at the entrance. This sign will indicate that the department is specially equipped and will work in the event of a long-term power outage.

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS
Under the blackout conditions, the following list of banking services will be available in the branches of the POWER BANKING network:
receiving cash (at ATMs or at the cash desk); payments, transfer of funds (at the cash desk or at self-service terminals); currency exchange (if there is cash in the cash desk); financial management advice.
Additionally, it is noted that ATM national roaming has been introduced in the branches of the POWER BANKING network. Thanks to this, Ukrainians will be able to withdraw an increased amount of cash from an ATM of any bank in the network, sufficient to meet current needs and form a certain reserve.
A map of POWER BANKING network branches is available on a separate page of the NBU. There you can find more detailed information about the network, the list of branches, ATM roaming, tips and answers to frequently asked questions.
Users can download a file with a list of branches of the POWER BANKING network to mobile devices. This will allow you to find the nearest branch in the absence of Internet access. Since the network is constantly expanding, it is better to update the file periodically.
