During the launch of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, Samsung reported that they would have new audio features, the Samsung Seamless Codec HiFi e Bluetooth LE Audio🇧🇷 The first feature, in fact, was welcomed by buyers of audio devices, but the second left something to be desired — or rather, it was not even experienced.
The company promised that it would arrive later this year, but even though it is in the last week of 2022, there is no sign that Bluetooth LE Audio will arrive for consumers through an update to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.
Bluetooth LE audio (which refers to low energy) is the next generation of wireless audio streaming technology. The idea is that it offers better audio quality with the same bit rate as Bluetooth Classic Audio and energy savings. It is also worth noting that the products of wireless audio that use this technology lasts longer compared to using classic Bluetooth audio (BR/EDR).
Bluetooth LE Audio is also built with isosynchronous channels in mind, designed to send the audio signal directly to different audio receivers simultaneously, with latency between them as low as ~10µs.
It also features LC3 (Low Complexity Communication Codec), which uses only half the data bandwidth as SBC (Standard Bluetooth Codec in Classic Audio) to send audio to a wireless receiver. The perceived audio quality through LC3 is better than SBC at varying bitrates, thanks to its improved encoding and decoding algorithms.

Advanced Bluetooth audio codecs such as AAC, aptX, aptX Lossless, LDAC, LHDC and Samsung Seamless Codec HiFi already exist, but these are proprietary technologies and transmit data through Bluetooth Classic, which consumes more power. In comparison, the LC3 is developed royalty-free and sends data over Bluetooth LE, which makes this type of device cheaper.
So far, there’s no Bluetooth LE Audio headphone and LC3 codec, which would make Samsung the first brand to release wireless headphones equipped with LE Audio and LC3, but it still doesn’t seem to make the move for that?
