Declan de Barrashowrunner The Witcher: Origins, confirmed that there are not and will not be alternate versions of the same characters in the main series and spin-offs. This means that the appearance of the “new” Geralt, who will be played by a different actor after the third season, will not be explained to the multiverse, as, for example, it happens in Marvel. Recall that from the first to the third seasons Geralt of Rivia plays Henry Cavillhowever, in the fourth season it will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth.
It is expected that such a transition between the actors will somehow be explained. Some have speculated that the show’s creators might resort to the idea of a multiverse, especially given that other worlds already exist in The Witcher’s world.
However, the prequel’s showrunner made it clear that all the characters appearing on screen are the same people. There are no two versions Buttercup or two versions Yennefer. It seems that Geralt is no exception.
The premiere of the third season of The Witcher, the final for Henry Cavill, will take place summer 2023.
