Aroged, Bandung – The Pokemon Company filed a lawsuit against an Australian developer who had made the Pokeworld NFT game. The developers are Pokemon Pty Ltd and Kotiota Studios. The reason, they use copyright without permission.
Pokeworld Sued for Unlicensed

Kotiota Studios has been promoting this game for months. They claim Pokeworld as a game play to earn metauniverse containing a variety of interesting pokemon that each player can collect. They also made “Pokemons” the plural of Pokemon in English. Though, the correct plural word is still Pokemon.
In a short video showing how to play, we see Pikachu battling Charmander, a PvE mode where players face off against Charizard, and an adventure mode where players hunt for Pokeballs.
Recently, The Pokemon Company International filed a lawsuit in Australian federal court. They are suing Pokemon Pty Ltd and Kotiota Studios for using intellectual property without permission.
Parties with Nintendo said that they would not be launching a Pokemon-themed NFT. It seems that this decision was made in order to protect the Pokemon brand as Nintendo’s mainstay property aimed at all ages.
Previously, six developers from China were sued for making the Pocket Monsters Reissue game last September. The reason, they have committed plagiarism and copyright infringement. This game has been operating since 2015 in the country of the bamboo curtain.

Pokeworld Developers Claim to Have Worked on a Pokemon Game, The Pokemon Company Strongly Denies
Vooks discovered that the employees behind Pokeworld claimed to have worked on a Pokemon game under Nintendo. These games include Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, Pokemon Home, and Pokemon Sleep (which has not been released until now).
This claim has been vehemently refuted by The Pokemon Company International. It confirms through legal documents that Pokemon Pty Ltd and Kotiota Studios employees have never even been a contractor for them.
As of this writing, the official Pokeworld site can still be visited. The NFT game is said to be released in January 2023 on mobile. Given the demands of The Pokemon Company, this is unlikely to happen.
