Call of Duty Black Ops 3 was originally going to have an extensive single player Open World campaign, as previously revealed by Jason Schreier. Halfway through the development, the campaign was cut but now some interesting images are leaking on the net.
Specifically, an album has been published on IMGUR with dozens and dozens of images taken from the single player campaign of Call of Duty Black Ops 3, the images in question show very large mapsvarious game modes, the presence of the day and night cycle and any mechanics related to construction.
The campaign had apparently quite high ambitions but was axed after about a year of work for reasons that are not fully understoodwhich could be related to the budget or to problems in the production phase, or perhaps to the desire to focus more on multiplayer, sacrificing the campaign to speed up development and production times.
Call of Duty Black Ops 3 then had a pretty straightforward campaign and devoid of particular ambitions, in general the game was received lukewarmly by audiences and critics, while the sequel Call of Duty Black Ops 4 focused on multiplayer and Battle Royale, eliminating the campaign altogether.
