Several weeks after the publication of the first GOALS gameplay in Pre-Alpha, the developers following Andreas Thorstensson regain social media to publish the Manifesto of the football simulator that aims to challenge FIFA and eFootball.
The message shared by the independent software house founded by the former Counter Strike world champion describes the creative vision and potential of this new sports experience to be lived strictly free-to-play.
The team directed by Thorstensson explains that “GOALS is our attempt to give football, and its fans, the video game it deserves. Ainteractive experience that is able to reflect the true spirit of football, rather than offering a representation of the football industry. We want to make a video game that is immediately fun, without forcing players to invest a fortune“.
After throwing this dig at the developers of freemium video games with pay-to-win mechanics (and if we also want to EA and Konami for the ‘FUT-centric vision’ in post-launch support of FIFA and eFootball), the GOALS developers enter on the merits of the gameplay of their soccer video game and point out how theirs is “a title where victory comes in multiple forms, compared to simply winning matches. You will have to focus on acrobatic shooting, create fantastic uniforms for your team and build great stadiums. No two players will be identical on the same journey. GOALS is for everyone, as football can and should be. It’s for casuals and pro players, for coaches and fans. But also for designers and for all those who love football and every aspect that characterizes it as a sport and lifestyle”.
