Another old game is about to get a major graphical update. Dihara Wijetunga, a graphics engineer at AMD, announced back in the summer that he was working on a mod for Return to Castle Wolfenstein that would add a path tracer to the game.
Working on the mod in his spare time, Widgetunga integrated state-of-the-art AMD FSR 2, NVIDIA DLSS 2 and Intel XeSS scaling methods into the game this past weekend. In confirmation, a screenshot with the settings from the game is presented.
Since the mod is being created by one person, work is progressing slowly, but the author hopes to present a full working version at the end of 2023. The original version of the game was released in 2001 and received high ratings, rightfully taking its place in the pantheon of the best shooters of the zero years.
