The feature has been present for a long time in the web version of Google’s video platform. However, it is only now that the playback queue has reached the testing phase for the beta version of the YouTube app for Android. There is, however, good news for YouTube Premium users as the feature is now available.
At issue is the possibility of creating playlists to play YouTube videos one after the other. However, until now, the video platform only made this feature available in the web version of the service, only delaying the introduction of this function on mobile devices.
Play queues coming to Android and iOS apps as well
Fortunately, Google seems to have listened to its users and finally brings the queue of videos to watch on Android and iPhone (iOS) and iPad (iPadOS). The function is currently in the testing phase for the free version of YouTube on mobile devices.
It should be noted that this feature first reached users of the Premium version of YouTube at the beginning of the month in the testing phase. Now, having already been applied to the paid version of YouTube, it arrives in beta version to conventional YouTube.
It should be noted that its full functionality will only be made available at the end of January 2023, as mentioned in the list of changes or changelog.
In the event that you have not yet received this function, and you are a Premium subscriber, you can activate it manually. To do so, just tap on your profile picture in the upper right corner, going to settings – try new features🇧🇷 Finally, go toFila” and touch the button “To experiment”.
Feature debuted on YouTube Premium in early December
The news was first advanced by the publication The Verge, with the first users receiving the tool last December 24 (Saturday). Meanwhile, its availability has been extended to various global markets.
This same function is also present when using Chromecast with our phones. In practice, there too, we can put several YouTube videos in a queue to start playing them sequentially.
However, not only for YouTube Premium users, but also soon for all platform users via mobile devices, it will be possible to add videos to a queue. Something that, in practice, works as a temporary playlist.
The user, after activating the new button “Play the last in the queue”, from the menu of three vertical points that is presented to us in the thumbnails of the video, tapping it gives us the option of adding it to the queue, or creating a new queue.
Finally, these news were also announced by the North American company itself. However, in this test version some users are pointing out flaws to the new tool such as the difficulty in adding videos to the playback queue on the first try.
