Controller DualSense became one of the “chips” of the PlayStation 5 – including thanks to the revolutionary vibration system, which allows you to transfer a wide variety of tactile effects through the body of the gamepad.
Even last year, the head of the Xbox Phil Spencer praised Sony for creating such a great device and noted that his team was inspired by the success of the DualSense. Apparently, Microsoft set about creating a similar gamepad capable of equally detailed vibration feedback.
This was announced by the co-founder, citing his own sources. XboxEra and one of the hosts of the podcast of the same name Nick Baker. According to the journalist, the “greens” have created a prototype and are even conducting internal testing of a new controller for Xbox, equipped with a touchpad in the manner of DualSense and DualShock 4. In addition, it will present an analogue of the technology HD Rumblewhich allows you to accurately emit various tactile effects.
Despite the existence of prototypes, the insider emphasizes that there are no guarantees that the controller will go on sale. The Xbox team is only experimenting, and his sources say that the prototype is still far from the consumer version.
This, however, is not the first time corporations borrow ideas from each other. Previously, Sony introduced the controller DualSense Edge – a kind of analogue of the “elite” Xbox gamepad, in addition to the usual customization elements, equipped with a number of unusual functions. Journalists have already managed to get acquainted with the new device and were completely delighted with it.
