We recently wrote about rumors regarding the specifications of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series mobile graphics cards. Now comes a new confirmation of the GeForce RTX 4080 performance for laptops and the first result in Geekbench.
The result of the new Acer Predator PH16-71 laptop based on the Core i9-13900HX processor with 24 cores and the GeForce RTX 4080 mobile graphics card was lit up in the Geekbench database. The announcement of such products is expected in January, but the first reviewers could already get their hands on laptops, hence the leak from tests. According to Geekbench, the graphics card is based on an AD104 GPU with 58 SM, which implies 7424 CUDA cores. The maximum boost frequency is 2.01 GHz. 12 GB of memory is used, which confirms the early leaks.
In the OpenCL test, such a laptop with a mobile GeForce RTX 4080 scored 178038 points. This test is not very indicative in terms of gaming performance, but it allows you to compare a future video card with existing mobile solutions.
This is about 30% faster than the mobile GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and 42% faster than the average GeForce RTX 3080. An impressive performance boost. At the same time, a faster GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card is planned in laptops, which will show an even greater gap with the old generation. Possible characteristics of new products are given in the table.
The announcement of GeForce RTX 40-series mobile graphics cards is expected at the GeForce Beyond event, which will be held on January 3 as part of CES 2022.
