At Tele2, the situation is a little more rosy.
Just a couple of days ago, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) found the mobile operator MegaFon guilty of an unreasonable increase in tariffs in May this year and, as a result, of violating antitrust laws. MegaFon was not at all alarmed by this circumstance, and the other day began to send notifications to its subscribers about tariff increases from next year.
The company did not inform the FAS about the upcoming tariff increase, so now the agency has launched a new investigation into MegaFon. If the service establishes the groundlessness of the next increase in tariffs, then an antitrust case will be initiated.
At the same time, the Federal Antimonopoly Service announced an analysis of the rationale for increasing tariffs by Tele2. Unlike MegaFon, Tele2 notified the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the increase in tariffs for communication services from December 30, 2022, and this increase in the conditions of previously unchanged tariffs was recognized by the service as justified.

Recall that the operators began to try to raise prices for their tariffs, referring to problems with purchases and the increased cost of telecommunications equipment due to the withdrawal of their manufacturers from the Russian market. It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation indirectly refuted these statements of the operators, stating that there is no shortage of imported equipment, and in the coming years, operators will actively switch to domestic equipment. So with regard to this topic, the FAS should keep abreast.
