Officially, the holiday campaign of the Epic Games Store will continue into the coming year, but the big boom should be over as of today. Punctually at 5:00 p.m., Fortnite developer Epic revealed the last free game of the season. Since December 15, 2022, customers have been offered a new game to download for free every day. The full versions of well-known and lesser-known games were completely free for account holders and were not linked to any subscription or similar. Even after the end of the promotion, the titles can be played an unlimited number of times
Epic Games Store: The last free game disappoints and is still a masterpiece
As with all previous 15 free games, Epic also gave hints as to which game it could be for the last title of the holiday campaign. Resourceful users immediately recognized the implied symbol on a virtual wrapping paper: It was clearly a sign that is on the back of the hand of the protagonist of the Dishonored series.
Wild speculation immediately ran rampant as to which part it would be. Some players even hoped that Epic would be particularly generous at the end of the holiday campaign and put the whole series of games in the store for free. However, these expectations were not met.
Epic Games Store and Amazon Prime Gaming complement each other with their “free” promotions
Particularly curious: Just one day before the last free game of the holiday promotion was unveiled in the Epic Games Store, Amazon released 10 titles that Prime subscribers can download at no additional cost. Among these is Dishonored 2. So did Amazon get ahead of rival Epic?

Ten “free” games: Amazon Prime Gaming preempts the Epic Games Store
Before the turn of the year, Amazon is giving all Prime subscribers 10 “free” games. There should also be a title in the competition.
Epic Games Store: An entire game series for free?
The Steam competitor’s holiday campaign is coming to an end. Will a whole series of hit games be offered for free download?
It is really not so. While you can download the second part of the popular game series with a subscription to Prime Gaming, Epic only offers part 1 for free. Although this is the Definitive Edition, which has been slightly polished for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and includes all DLCs, the fact that “only” the first part is free should cause disappointment. On the positive side, however, it can be said that the offers from Amazon Prime Gaming and the Epic Games Store do not overlap, but rather complement each other perfectly.
