Who would have believed it: if the arrival of the very first NieR was a bitter commercial failure, Square-Enix did well to persevere since the franchise is today one of the most famous in the video game sphere. The Automata episode notably reaped monstrous success, even leading to an adaptation in an animated series named NieR Automata Ver1.1a, of which here is a new trailer.
One of the best adaptations in sight?
We know it: the NieR franchise has this little something unique that makes it so special. A subtle blend of poetry, grace and punchy action that now makes it an extremely popular license, while not remaining mainstream:hese two games (and even the three, if we count the mobile title) are quite different from each other and if we can only advise you to try the experience, this is about the second episode, NieR Automata.
Real commercial success signed PlatinumGames with six million sales at the last news, it was recently ported to Nintendo Switch with a perfectly optimized version and has already tried to export to other mediums, as with a recent manga. An anime is already planned and to tell the truth, it will not be long in coming: here is a brand new trailer.
See you in January
The trailer speaks for itself: NieR Automata Ver1.1a features superb art direction and animation from talented studio A-1 Pictures, to whom we already owe the Persona, Sword Art Online and Seven Deadly Sins anime. The firm intends to do a first-rate job here to tell this new adventure of 2B, A2 and 9S.
This promising trailer also exhibits the music that will be used to dress the introduction, which will be sung by the Japanese artist Aimer. Could it be that we are dealing with one of the best adaptations of video games in cinema (or rather on the small screen)?
A first element of response will be given on January 7, 2023when the first episode will be released in Japan and, probably a few hours later, on Crunchyroll in France. The broadcast rate will be weekly, with a new episode every Saturday in the Land of the Rising Sun. In any case, we can’t wait to taste it all.
