Synopsis
The real music party for the whole family is back!
Youth, the flower of age, the green years, the spring of life… Young age has many names and many facets, as many as the personality of young people.
It has been like this for centuries and classical music is no exception! Did you know that at the age of sixteen Felix Mendelssohn had already written one of the masterpieces of his life? And that at that age Mozart and Schubert already had impressive catalogs with music of all genres, from opera to miniatures of salon music.
In this promenade concert, under the direction of maestro João Gaspar and with the presentation of Rui Baeta, we set out to discover the youthful spirit in classical music with only one rule: music written by adults is not valid!

Southern Classical Orchestra
Founded in 2002 as Orquestra do Algarve, it became Orquestra Clássica do Sul in September 2013. Endowed with an artistic quality of excellence, its main objectives are to promote and disseminate classical music in all social strata, not only contributing to raise the level of the target population, as well as developing a pedagogical action among younger people, seeking to enrich and diversify the cultural and tourist offer in the Algarve region.
Composed of musicians from around fourteen nationalities, selected in an international public competition, the Orchestra currently has Martim Sousa Tavares in its artistic team as Principal Conductor.
It should also be noted that in 2019 it started a new project, the Community Choir, with the main mission of interpreting symphonic choral repertoire, thus expanding the range of productions that can be presented by the orchestra. This project is coordinated by baritone Rui Baeta.
