Marvel’s Midnight Suns is one of the few video games dedicated to the magical side of the Marvel Universe. While the game features familiar faces like Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel, there is a lot of focus on mystical characters like Nico Minoru and Magik. The Midnight Suns come together to stop the villainess Lilith, but the game’s post-credit scenes hint that they may have to work together again to stop a much bigger threat.
As Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, and Agatha Harkness try to find a way to resurrect the Huntsman, we see the Book of the Darkhold. An ancient tome is grabbed by Doctor Doom’s gauntlet while he thinks about “amateurs” to himself. It’s unclear if Doom will appear in the DLC story content, or if the villain will only appear in the sequel. Marvel fans who have bought the Midnight Suns comic know that Doom played a role in this series as well, although the comic is very loosely connected to the game itself. Of course, in the comics, Doom has been one of the most skilled magic users in the Marvel Universe for decades. This should make him a difficult opponent for the squad (and players)!
Firaxis Games and 2K confirmed back in October that Marvel’s Midnight Suns would receive a Season Pass with additional content. The pass will include four new playable characters: Deadpool, Venom, Morbius and Storm. In addition, players are waiting for new skins, new story missions and an update to the game hub. A release date for the content has yet to be announced, but fans can look forward to much more in 2023.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch are also in development.
