It is definitely very discreet this The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! We now know the title, we have the release date, a few trailers, but still no proper presentation of the gameplay and pitch of this sequel. At the same time, players are wondering what Nintendo will do around the title.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: aussi attendu que mystérieux
Announced several years ago, the “sequel to Breath of the Wild” is stay warm at Nintendo. We were treated to a first video in June 2019 then, nothing. It then took wait two years for a brand new video to be presented, with an exit window. About a year ago, patents filed gave clues to game mechanics. But it’s finally last September 13 that we learned that the game was called The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and that it would be released the 12th of 2023.
A direct sequel to Breath of The Wild (although we still don’t know how many years separate the two games) Tears of The Kingdom makes a big promise: that of take over the open world of the previous game, and add a whole new dimensionwith islands and islets floating in the air.
From new powers will obviously be in the game, but we are waiting to know a little more. Winner of the Most Anticipated Game award at The Game Awards, Tears of the Kingdom keeps a lot going for it. Nintendo even has waited as long as possible before revealing the name of the game, because it would give indications, still quite cryptic, on what awaits us. Link has long hair, Zelda seems lost in limbo, the Master Sword seems gnawedand our hero has a strange device on the armwhich is also accompanied by marks.
A collector OLED Switch in preparation?
About what theorizeespecially since many players have made the lnothing between these floating islands and the celestial world from Skyward Sword. We imagine that Nintendo will dedicate an entire Direct to the game at the start of the year, but for now, we have to settle for crumbs. These crumbs, for the moment, concern the console herself. Indeed, unlike the WiiU, the GameCube or the GameBoy Advance SP, the Nintendo Switch was not entitled to its Zelda edition. Still, there were opportunities. Breath of the Wild could have been used as a pretext, just like the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.
Most a rumor begins to make the rounds of the Web, supporting photographs. flushed out on ResetErathese photos suggest that Nintendo is preparing une Nintendo Switch OLED Tears of the Kingdom Edition. Of course, you have to take very large tweezers, especially since AI image generators are currently working wonders, but you never know. According to Reset Era member Jencks, these photos could from Chinese forum Tiebaon which special editions of the Switch family consoles had leaked before being authenticated.
In these photos, you can see the front and back packaging of the consolewith the game’s main artwork, a white and gold dock bearing various symbols, and two golden Joy-Conwith the one on the left displaying the marks found on the arm of Link. This should ignite the hearts of Zelda fans, who have been asking for a console in the colors of the mythical license for almost 6 years.
However, we must, at least for the moment, remain very careful with these visuals, which we will simply keep in the back of our minds while waiting for a possible announcement. The photos look real, the design quite consistent, it’s entirely possible that Nintendo is preparing a special edition for the new The Legend of Zelda, but this pack could very well have been made from scratch. Concretely: it’s credible, but let’s wait for an announcement before saying anything.
