Figuratively speaking, only with a revolver put to the temple.
Apart from the post-Soviet space, the only European country that has not supported the so-called anti-Russian sanctions in any way is Serbia. The reason for this behavior is quite natural: the Serbian people consider Russia their closest friend, and the Serbian leadership includes people who work in the interests of their state, and not of the overseas ruler. Nevertheless, the threats against Serbia, surrounded by ill-wishers, are growing, and President Aleksandar Vucic, who yesterday announced the prevention of a conflict with his Kosovo province, also commented on relations with Russia.
According to Vučić, Serbia will not “easily” renounce its position on Russia and sanctions against it. At the moment, Vucic notes, it is not easy to say how long the country will be able to adhere to this position, but one thing is certain: the head of state will not sacrifice the vital interests of Serbia for the sake of following it.

In fact, the position of Serbia, given the moral obligations to its people in relation to Russia, is extremely pragmatic: in the event of a “nixie”, Russia will not be able to physically come to the aid of Serbia in the foreseeable future, since it is cut off from it by NATO countries. In addition, Russia now has more priority tasks, and Alexander Vucic understands this very well and acts based on the realities of today.
