01/01/2023 at 3:30 p.m. by Valentin Sattler – Starbreeze has released a teaser for Payday 3 just in time for the beginning of the new year. The game is expected to be released in 2023. In addition, it is now clear that Payday 3 will be offered on Steam. The developers have now published the corresponding product page.
After there was initial information about the upcoming co-op shooter Payday 3 in 2021, it was noticeably quiet last year. However, developer Starbreeze published the first teaser at midnight sharp, breaking the long silence. The video again confirms the release in 2023. Also, the developers revealed the official Payday 3 logo and released the Steam product page. Previous rumors that the game could only appear on the Epic Games Store due to the partnership with Koch Media are now gone.
Payday 3 details
Unfortunately, not too many other details can be found in the published teaser. The 24-second video consists of just a short tracking shot through a city that is probably based on New York City, where the New Year’s fireworks are just being set off. The scene apparently shows the current status of Payday 3, so it’s an in-game teaser. However, hardly anything can be said about the graphics of the game based on the short camera movement.

The main information of the video is that Starbreeze Payday 3 still plans to release 2023 for the PC and the consoles. The company has not yet given any more precise dates, so this probably means the second half of the year. A suitable date would be around October 18, when Payday: The Heist turns twelve. Alternatively, August 13 would also be an option, when the current offshoot of the series – Payday 2 – celebrates its tenth birthday.

We will probably have to wait a little longer for more details on Payday 3. Due to the approaching release, more and more information about the game is likely to become public in the coming months. Starbreeze is obviously confident: The studio, which went bankrupt after the flop of Overkill’s The Walking Dead, is now back on an expansion course. It was only in October that the company secured the publishing rights to The Tribe Must Survive game, and in December a new studio was set up in England. Future titles for the time after Payday 3 are to be developed there.
