A new rich month has begun for PlayStation Plus, ready to offer all its subscribers a flood of new games. The monthly selection for Essential is around the corner, while for the new titles for Extra and Premium we will have to wait a few more weeks. When will they be announced?
New games for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium are usually announced on the third Wednesday of the month, so by this time we can expect them to be unveiled on Wednesday. Wednesday 18 January 2023. The actual inclusion in the catalog, however, always takes place on the Tuesday immediately following the announcement, therefore it should take place on Tuesday 24 January 2023, all barring major upheavals by Sony.
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, we recall, are two additional plans that Sony launched during 2022 that has just ended. Extra (13.99 euros per month, 39.99 euros per quarter or 99.99 euros per year) adds a vast catalog of games for PlayStation 4 and PS5 to the basic offer; Premium (16.99 euros per month, 49.99 euros per quarter or 119.99 euros per year) includes, in addition to all the content of the previous plans, also the trial versions of the games, streaming in the cloud and a catalog of classics from older PlayStation generations. The “old” PlayStation Plus, on the other hand, has been renamed Essential and now represents the entry plan, including all the historical advantages that all subscribers know well.
For the announcement of the new games for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, therefore, we will have to wait almost three weeks, fortunately there is no shortage of titles to play at all. In December, Sony made 18 PS4 and PS5 games available for PlayStation Plus Extra, including Far Cry 5Mortal Shell and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, e 4 classici per PlayStation Plus Premium, including Heavenly Sword for PS3. The three new free monthly games for PlayStation Plus Essential will be launched on Tuesday 3 January, among which Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order stands out. Not bad, right?
