The Persona 3 remake is still in development at ATLUS, an insider has assured.
ATLUS recently announced big plans for the still young year 2023. Among other things, the remasters of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will be released. In addition, however, there are still “unreleased new titles” in the works, which were not described in detail.
For fans of the Persona game series, that was enough to start a new conversation, which also brought up the question of Persona 3. As early as September, a reliable insider said that a Persona 3 remake was in development.
The same insider has now reconfirmed that Persona 3 Remake is real. He also answered the question why ATLUS is releasing Persona 3 Portable for current systems before that.
Accordingly, porting a PSP game is cheap and easy money. And since a Persona 3 Remake is similar to Persona 5 both graphically and in terms of Quality of Life improvements and (lack of) content, Persona 3 Portable might be enough to please fans.
It remains to be seen if Persona 3 Remake will be one of the unannounced games for this year. It could also appear after 2023.
