While fans are currently waiting for the remake of the action role-playing game Gothic, it seems that another big announcement about the franchise is looming. At the moment there are increasing indications of an upcoming release for the Nintendo Switch. Apparently even the publication of several games in the series is conceivable. We summarize all the important details for you.
Gothic games for the Nintendo Switch?
The trigger for the latest speculation was a tweet on the official Gothic channel. There the current developers spoke to the fans with a New Year’s greeting and published an interesting picture on this occasion. On it you can see the handset of a Nintendo Switch, on which a version of Gothic 2 (buy now / €9.99 ) seems to be running. Added to this is the sentence “May the coming years be full of surprises”.
The tweet did not reveal any further details, but there was an aftermath that was as small as it was interesting in the forums of the World of Gothic fan site. A fan linked the tweet there, whereupon one of the producers of the Gothic remake spoke up. He explained that he had not retweeted this message without reason and that there would be further details in the course of 2023.

Announcement pending
All of this put together gives a relatively clear indication that Alkimia Interactive is not only working on the remake of Gothic, but also on a port of Gothic 2 (and maybe even Gothic 1) for the Nintendo Switch at the same time. The reference to the fact that there will soon be corresponding details gives hope at least for an announcement in the near future. So far there has been no official confirmation from the developer studio, even if the signs are very clear.
