Just some time ago we told you about Square Enix’s willingness to support blockchain games and to focus on the sale of NFTs. As the new year dawned, the company spoke again about its interest in these kinds of products and how they are about to change for the better.
In the letter discussing plans for the new year, the president Yosuke Matsuda explained to the public that the intention to support products based on the blockchain does not change one iota and that, on the contrary, there is the certainty that 2023 could be the best year for projects of this kind. According to the words of the president of Square Enix, the recent events involving cryptocurrencies (such as the bankruptcy of FTX last November) represent the perfect pretext to ensure that regulations are created that will positively affect the NFT, blockchain e cryptocurrencies.
Matsuda also argues that the initial enthusiasm for this technology has now run out, but at the same time there is now greater awareness by users on the meaning of terms such as metaverse and NFT, a factor that will allow products that will exploit the blockchain to make their way more easily among gamers and beyond. In short, according to the president of the Japanese company there is nothing to worry about and in the future we will also see video games based on these technologies arrive.
