As every year, those responsible for Valve have published the list of the best games of the year on Steam for 2022. The plural would be more correct, i.e. lists. We find out which games have sold particularly well on the popular distribution platform throughout the year, which games have had a rocket start and which ones have been played a lot.
The most played games on Steam in 2022
Which games were played a lot last year? The Valve managers do not look at the total hours, but at the number of players who have played a game at the same time. Twelve games were able to surpass the bar of at least 240,000 users playing at the same time:

The top sellers on Steam in 2022
Now let’s look at which games were able to generate the largest revenues from January 1, 2022 to December 18, 2022. The platinum category includes a total of twelve games, although Valve unfortunately does not reveal which title is in which position and how much money was taken in detail.

There was also a list of release titles from 2022 that achieved the highest sales in the first two weeks. Featuring Lost Ark, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, Elden Ring, Dying Light 2, Monster Hunter Rise, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II made some reappearances in this list of top sellers. Completing the list are V Rising, Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, FIFA 23, Stray, Total War Warhammer 3 and Warhammer 40k: Darktide.
