CES 2023 is in the air, and as always, tech fans can expect big innovations from hardware makers. Acer decided to expand the limited availability of gaming screens with OLED technology in the market with the Predator X45 and Predator X27U, your new gaming monitors presented this Tuesday (03).
Both models are equipped with an OLED panel, which guarantees the best contrast ratio, color fidelity and energy efficiency on the market. The Taiwanese’s new monitors join Samsung’s Odyssey OLED G8 and ASUS’ ROG Swift OLED, two of the few models in the category available on the market.
With a 45-inch diagonal, the Predator X45 sports a large OLED screen for gamers who have plenty of space on their desk. Its display has 800R curvature and extremely thin edges to deliver the best immersive experience. Its resolution is UWQHD (3,440 x 1,440 pixels) and the refresh rate of 240 Hz.
The display is incredibly fast — 0.01 milliseconds — courtesy of organic diode technology, which also guarantees 98.5% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, 1,000 nits peak brightness with HDR and 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio. The Predator X45 has two built-in speakers that deliver 5 watts of power.
Along with AMD FreeSync Premium, the model synchronizes the panel with the computer’s video card to mitigate frame loss. The monitor connects through two HDMI 2.0 ports or a DisplayPort 1.4, in addition to offering a USB-C port with an output power of 90 watts and a hub with USB 3.2 ports.
For those who prefer a more compact monitor, the Predator X27U is an excellent novelty for adopting a 27-inch OLED screen. The display is flat and has Quad HD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), 240 Hz refresh rate, typical brightness of 150 nits peaking at 1,000 nits in HDR, and a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1.
The flat model’s connectivity and color calibration specs are identical to the Predator X45. Both models have KVM that allows you to use the same monitor with multiple sources without having to change the mouse and keyboard connection.
Acer’s new gaming monitors will be available in China from Q1 2023 and will arrive in North America and Europe in Q2. For now, there is no forecast for release in other regions. Check the prices:
